Overview

MP Wallet simplifies sending, receiving, converting and withdrawing USDC through a secure mobile experience — making stablecoin money movement feel as familiar as a banking app.

Problem

Crypto UX intimidates first-time and non-technical users. Jargon, irreversible mistakes and opaque fees erode the trust required to move real money. MP Wallet needed to lower that barrier without hiding what's actually happening on-chain.

Goals

  • Build trust
  • Simplify crypto
  • Reduce friction
  • Improve onboarding

Research

I studied both crypto-native and mainstream finance apps to borrow the trust cues of familiar banking while avoiding the intimidation of exchange interfaces.

Process

I storyboarded the highest-anxiety moments — receiving to the right address, ramping in and out of fiat, confirming a send — and prototyped each until the flow felt reassuring. Dual-currency framing (USD and NGN) was validated early as the fastest way to build confidence. See my full process →

Design Decisions

Dual-currency everywhere.

Showing balances and conversions in both USD and local currency removed the mental math that stops non-technical users cold.

Loud warnings, quiet chrome.

Address-mismatch and irreversible-action warnings are impossible to miss; everything else stays calm.

Banking patterns over crypto patterns.

On/off-ramp flows mirror deposits and withdrawals people already understand.

Outcome

Money movement that feels as calm as a banking app — a wallet a first-time user can trust with a real transaction on their first session.

Lessons Learned

In fintech, clarity beats cleverness. Every reassurance I added — a second currency, a plain-language warning, a visible success state — did more for adoption than any visual flourish.
